This playful Platinum Three Stone Ring features a 3.34ct Round Blue Sheen Moonstone Cabochon surrounded by a bold halo of Round Moonstones 1.42ct. The halo is interrupted by two gorgeous Tapered Baguette Diamonds 0.35ct. A ring that can be worn from day into night and gives off so much effortless beauty.
What makes this ring special? Moonstone is a variety of the feldspar-group mineral orthoclase. During formation, orthoclase and albite separate into alternating layers. When light falls between these thin layers it is scattered producing the phenomenon called adularescence. Adularescence is the light that appears to billow across a gem. Other feldspar minerals can also show adularescence including labradorite and sanidine. – GIA.edu
